Rebecca Karthauser

Rebecca is from Northern California and moved to the Kerrville area in 2004 and joined Town and Country Animal Hospital in 2006.  She is a Certified Veterinary Assistant and is also certified in exotic feline husbandry.  Before joining our team, Rebecca was a zookeeper at an African Wildlife Park in California.  She cared for the parrot and exotic bird collection and the small mammal collection including lemurs, fennec foxes, cheetahs and more.  Rebecca has worked with a wide variety of animals from dogs and cats to cheetahs and giraffes.  She currently volunteers with Cibolo Nature Centers Wildlife Field Research, where she leads the small mammal research team and also spends time on the snake/reptile research team.  Rebecca’s extended family members include “Peaches” and “Frodo” the cockatiles, “Rocco” the blue and gold macaw and the latest addition to the menagerie is “Emma”, a feisty terrier mix puppy.  Beyond all that, she enjoys hiking, camping, gardening and just about anything to do outdoors.  She also loves photography and capturing all the wonderful things found in nature.  You can see some of her work at http//
