Veterinarians

Dr. W.B. (Cuatro) Patterson IV, DVM

Veterinarian/ Practice Owner

Cuatro was born and raised in the heart of the Texas Hill Country on a ranch between Hunt and Leakey.  He graduated from Leakey High School in 1985 and earned his undergraduate degree in 1990 when he graduated Cum Laude.  In 1994 he again graduated from Texas A&M University, this time with his degree in Veterinary Medicine.  He moved to Kerrville and joined Town and Country Animal Hospital as an Associate Veterinarian.  Cuatro became a partner of the practice in 1996 and purchased it in 2001.  He continues to take great pride in making our hospital better every year.  He currently lives in Kerrville with his wife, two sons, one dog, and three cats.  He is certified in Vetstem Regeneration Cell therapy.  In his spare time, he loves fishing and boating, as well as coaching his sons’ sporting events.  He is on the Board of Directors for Guadalupe National Bank as well as the Board of Directors of Texas Veterinary Medical Association.  He was awarded the very prestigious honor of General Practioner of the Year for the State of Texas in 2013.  He is a member of the 12th Man Association and Kerr County Texas A& M Club. He is also on the Chronic Wasting Disease panel with Texas Parks & Wildlife.

Dr. Scott A. Chapman, DVM

Veterinarian/ Practice Partner

Scott was raised in Kingwood, TX.  In 2001 he graduated from Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine and promptly moved to the Kerrville area where he joined the Town and Country Animal Hospital family.  He became a partner in the practice in 2004. Scott is a resident of Hunt, TX with his wife, four sons, and a daughter. He is an avid hunter and fisherman as well as an active member of the community.  Scott attends Notre Dame Catholic Church and is an Assistant Scout Master in BSA Troop 111.  He is a Grand Knight and Fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and President of the Kerr County Texas A&M Club.

Dr. William A. Symm, DVM, DACVS

Veterinarian/ Practice Partner

Dr. William “Bill” Symm, Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2002 from Texas A&M University. He subsequently completed a one-year internship at Littleton Large Animal Clinic in Colorado, followed by a three-year residency in Equine Surgery at the University of California-Davis. Dr. Symm has been in private practice since 2007, predominately in surgical/referral equine settings, namely Retama Equine in San Antonio and Texas Equine Hospital in Bryan.

Dr. Symm is a current board member of the Texas Equine Veterinary Association (TEVA) and an active member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association (TVMA), as well as the current President of the TVMA Equine Practice Committee. He is also a member of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP), the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS).

Dr. Symm and his wife Bridget, have two boys – Will (6) and Parker (4). Both Bill and Bridget grew up in the Kerrville area and actually met working at Town and Country Animal Hospital in 1996. In his free time, Dr. Symm endeavors to spend as much time with his family and outdoors as possible. He was fortunate to grow up here, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, and spent many hours fishing the Guadalupe River near his parents’ home in Hunt. He remains an avid fisherman and is rapidly convincing his sons to follow in his footsteps (fishing at least). Dr. Symm is an ardent athlete, having completed two half-ironman triathlons, as well as six marathons and countless other competitions. Dr. Symm is also a private pilot (VFR rated), a hobby artist, and an aspiring permaculturist.

Dr. Lamar E. Crossland, DVM

Veterinarian/ Practice Associate

For the past 24 years, Dr. Crossland has been the owner and managing partner of Sunset Canyon Veterinary Clinic in Dripping Springs, Texas. Dr. Crossland received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Louisiana State University in 1990 and completed his internship at Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Crossland grew up showing steers and heifers, and has a passion for working on show animals, including lamb tail docks, goat and steer dehorns, and pig medicine and surgery. He also enjoys small animal surgery and hoofstock and comes to TCAH with many years of small and large animal experience.

Dr. Crossland looks forward to joining TCAH- Town and Country Animal Hospital in providing excellent veterinary care to all our clients and patients. He and his wife, Amber, look forward to meeting and joining our exceptional Hill Country community!

Dr. Lauren J. Lyssy, DVM

Veterinarian/ Practice Associate

Dr. Lyssy  officially joined TCAH in winter of 2021.   From 2017 to 2021, Dr. Lyssy worked with her grandfather in a rural mixed animal practice in Arivaca, Arizona.  Dr. Lyssy received a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University in 2012, and then went on to complete Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University in 2018.

Dr. Lyssy grew up on her family’s cattle ranch in southern Arizona, working with her grandad in veterinary medicine from a young age. This upbringing gave her a passion for working on all types of animals.  She herself currently has three dogs, two cats, and two horses.  In her spare time, Dr. Lyssy enjoys baking and hiking with her husband and three dogs.

Dr. Lyssy grew to love this area during a veterinary school externship with Town and Country many years ago.  She is very excited to be back in the Hill Country and working with all our clients and patients again

Jennifer Dixon Houghton

Human Resources and Practice Manager & Charitable Services

Jennifer was born and raised in southern Germany, but has lived in Texas for over 20 years and has called the Hill Country home since 2007.  She has previous experience in banking management but has always had a passion for animal care.  In 2006, she made the full-time transition to the veterinary medicine/animal care industry.  Jennifer is an advocate for various animal rescue groups and shelters in this area, as well as serving the San Antonio and Austin communities.   Jennifer loves spending time with her family which includes her husband, stepson, two daughters, and both of her parents who recently moved to Kerrville.

Hannah Brown

Veterinary Technician

Born and raised in the Texas Hill Country, Hannah has always called the Kerrville area home.  Hannah started working at Town and Country in 2003 as a junior in high school.  She continued to work here while attending Schreiner University, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.  She is happily married with two silly little boys as well as 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a horse to complete the family.  she loves watching her little ones grow and thrive, spending time with her family, as well as working in the yard, reading, and learning just about anything.  She once aspired to become a veterinarian herself, but after working as a technician, fell in love with being the nurse to the patients and an educator to the clients.  “I really enjoy spending time with clients, educating them on what is best for their pet and why.  It can really make a difference in not only the pet’s life but also the owner’s as well.”

Jacob Browning

Veterinary Technician

Jacob was born in San Diego, California, but has lived all over the American Southwest from Colorado to New Mexico and now Texas.  He has been working in the field of Veterinary medicine since 2009, and he is especially passionate about dental health.

Jazleen Magana

Veterinary Technician

Jazleen is originally from Traverse City, Michigan, but has called Kerrville home since 2005. Jazleen is currently attending Alamo colleges while working at TCAH, and also volunteers at the Kathleen C. Cailloux Humane Society of Kerrville’s resale shop. Jazleen is very busy working multiple jobs and taking care of her pets: 2 horses, 3 dogs, and 1 parrot. When she is not busy with work and taking care of her pet family, she enjoys reading, babysitting, and riding her horse.

LeAnn Smith

Veterinary Technician

Le Ann came to us from Peoria Arizona and is now living in Bandera, TX. She has been in the Veterinary field since the late ’90s and continues to work diligently to further her education. She is passionate about working with anesthesia, in small animal dentistry and the importance of educating clients on the importance of these two aspects of maintaining their pet’s good health. She is the proud mommy to “Walter” her very large Chihua and “Leonardo Di Pitty Cimi” her PitBull. Le Ann loves the outdoors and spending time hiking, fishing, camping, and rock climbing.

Morgan Derby

Veterinary Technician

Morgan is a Texas native, born in Huntsville and raised in Bandera. Morgan graduated from Palo Alto College with a degree in Applied Science of Veterinary Technology and is an LVT (Licensed Veterinary Technician).  Morgan worked in a small and large animal practice for over 5 years while studying for her degree, and officially joined us in 2016 managing our Equine Care Center & Equine Boarding facilities.  She enjoys barrel racing and has participated in various youth and college rodeos. She also enjoys spending time with her beloved pets, which consist of three horses, three dogs, and a cat.

Olivia Stinziano

Veterinary Technician

Olivia is originally from Hermosa Beach, California, but has lived in Kerrville since 2013. Olivia has previous experience as a veterinary technician and has also worked with special needs children in the PALS program for many years. Olivia has a passion for animals and likes to refer to herself as a self-proclaimed animal whisperer. She enjoys playing piano, singing, poetry, gymnastics, and spending time with her three cats: Neko, Denzie, and Yoda.

Rob Cadenhead

Veterinary Technician

Rob is originally from Big Spring, Texas, and has lived in Kerrville since 2004.  He was in the armed forces, stationed in Fort Carson, CO 1-68 Div, and served in Iraq (Operation Iraqi Freedom ) for one year.  “It was quite an experience, and I am proud to have been a part of something that would bring change for the better to this world.  Thanks to all the soldiers and veterans who fight and have fought for a great cause.”  He has 4 dogs, 2 turtles, and 2 Ferrets.  Fishing is his favorite thing to do.  he also likes camping, hiking, playing with his animals, and hanging out at the river during the summers.  Rob is always up for a challenge and keeps us laughing.

Victorie Kemp

Veterinary Technician

Victorie grew up in sunny California but has been in Kerrville for over 15 years now.  She has grown up with a variety of animals and shown sheep for 10 years.  She made the transition from human medicine to veterinary medicine in Fall 2021 and is currently pursuing to become a veterinarian herself.  When not at work or busy with her studies, she enjoys spending time with her newly engaged fiancé, as well as her 3 dogs and cat.

Caitlyn Lewis

Veterinary Technician

Caitlyn was born and raised in Bandera Texas, where she currently resides.  She has enjoyed working as a small and large animal veterinary technician for several years now and joined TCAH in Fall 2020.   While she loves working with large animals, in particular, Caitlyn is a natural talent when working with our smaller fur babies.  When she is not busy working, she loves traveling, kayaking, horseback riding, hunting, four-wheeling, and spending time with her 3 dogs and horse.

Lauren Lamascus

Veterinary Technician

Lauren is a Texas native, born and raised in Fredericksburg.  She previously lived in Houston but made her way back to her Hill Country home in 2020.  She always wanted to pursue her dream job and career as a veterinary technician and is currently working towards her certification.  Lauren enjoys spending time with her dog, Vegas, and also working as a local pet sitter.

Alexis Eagen

Veterinary Technician

Born in Miami Florida, Alexis has lived in Kerrville for over 22 years and is a 2015 graduate of Tivy.  Her passion for animals started at an early age, as she began volunteering for local veterinary clinics as early as middle school.  Alexis previously worked as a Veterinary Technician in Kingsland, Texas, but moved back to Kerrville to join TCAH in 2019.  When not busy working, Alexis enjoys spending time with her 3 dogs- Ruger, Bubba, and Sheba.

Sabrina (‘Brina’) Sierra

Veterinary Technician

Sabrina, better known to us as ‘Brina’, is a Kerrville native, born and raised but also lived in the Corpus Christi area for about 5 years and recently moved back. Brina comes to TCAH with a variety of companion animal experiences. She previously worked as a dog groomer, a veterinary receptionist, and a veterinary technician assistant. Her experience comes in very handy with her animal family, as she has a full house with a dog, 2 cats, a tortoise, a bearded dragon, and seven snakes! When not running around and caring for her animal family, she is a busy mom taking care of two precious boys and a husband. She also enjoys reading, binge-watching Netflix, and paper crafting.

Jessica Hernandez

Equine Technician Assistant

Jessica is a Texas native, originally from Mission, but has called the Hill Country her home for over 20 years.   Jessica is one of Town and Country’s original team members, and has worked in many different areas of our hospital from Client Services to Veterinary technicians.  Jessica enjoys spending most of her time taking care of our Equine patients and is most often found in our Equine Care Center ensuring all our large animal patients receive round-the-clock care.  When not taking care of our horses, Jessica enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, horseback riding, fishing, and trail walking.

Michelle Cranford 

Veterinary Technician’s Assistant 

Michelle grew up in Palos Verdes, California, but has been in Kerrville for over 20 years.  Michelle joined TCAH in the Summer of 2020 after a career change out of hospitality management. She enjoys spending time with her Shepherd mix, Daisy, and her large family of six children, two grandchildren, and soon expecting her newest and third grandbaby.  When her family doesn’t keep her on her toes, she loves reading, traveling, and working on her tiny house.

Michelle Moeller 

Veterinary Technician’s Assistant 

Michelle was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas.  She has been in Kerrville since 2013 and joined TCAH in 2021.   Michelle has been passionate about animals from an early age.  She started volunteering at animal shelters as a young child, grew up barrel racing, and was on the Rodeo team throughout high school.  She still volunteers at a local ranch working with horses and other large animals.  When not busy working or volunteering, she loves knitting, horseback riding, and spending time with her 2 dogs and 3 cats.

Lori Sanders

Client Service Representative 

Lori is a Texas native and has lived in the Kerrville area since 2007.  She has been in the veterinary field off and on since 1980.  From 1994-2006 she worked strictly in equine medicine as head technician for Dr. Dutton in Boerne, who specializes in equine lameness and sports medicine and is boarded in equine surgery. She has been with Town and Country Animal Hospital since 2007 She is the mother of two Weimers, a Jack Russel Terrier, and a paint mare.  She loves riding horses, shooting traps, and dove hunting with her dog.

Kaylee Park

Client Services Representative & Veterinary Technician

Kaylee is originally from Phenix City, Alabama, but was raised and has lived in Kerrville most of her life. Kaylee graduated from Tivy High School in 2014 and is currently pursuing undergraduate studies to attend veterinary school in the future. She enjoys running, swimming, any outdoor activity, and spending time with her two cats, Lucy and Monster, and her dog, Chloe. Kaylee comes to TCAH with a passion and love for animals, and in her words, “would love to adopt every animal in need of a good home

Sabrina Alvarado

Client Service Representative

Sabrina was born and raised here in Kerrville Texas, however, she has a deep family ties to El Salvador. She started working for Town and Country when she was 18 in our boarding facility as a Kennel Technician. She is currently working as a Client Service representative and enjoying it very much. She loves spending time with her family and doing arts & crafts and cooking projects with her kiddos.

Ashley Orr

Client Service Representative

Ashlee was born in Tampa, Florida.  She has been in Kerrville for over 20 years and is a 2009 graduate of Tivy High School.  She enjoys spending time with her husband, two daughters, and their dog and two cats.  Ashlee never realized how much of an animal lover she was until working here, and has really grown to enjoy working in the animal care industry upon joining TCAH in April 2021.

Trish Davis

Kennel Technician Team Leader/Veterinarian Technician Assistant

Trish was born and raised in Kerrville and joined our Town and Country Family in 2010.  Her personal love and compassion for animals made her a perfect fit caring for our four-legged guests.  The organizational and coordination skills she brought from being in the food service industry made her very valuable as a Team Leader in our boarding facility.  She loves spending time with her two cats Cain and Nox.

Rebecca Karthauser

Kennel Technician, Team Leader, Certified Veterinarian Assistant

Rebecca is from Northern California and moved to the Kerrville area in 2004 and joined Town and Country Animal Hospital in 2006.  She is a Certified Veterinary Assistant and is also certified in exotic feline husbandry.  Before joining our team, Rebecca was a zookeeper at an African Wildlife Park in California.  She cared for the parrot and exotic bird collection and the small mammal collection including lemurs, fennec foxes, cheetahs, and more.  Rebecca has worked with a wide variety of animals from dogs and cats to cheetahs and giraffes.  She currently volunteers with Cibolo Nature Centers Wildlife Field Research, where she leads the small mammal research team and also spends time on the snake/reptile research team.  Rebecca’s extended family members include “Peaches” and “Frodo” the cockatiels, “Rocco” the blue and gold macaw and the latest addition to the menagerie is “Emma”, a feisty terrier mix puppy.  Beyond all that, she enjoys hiking, camping, gardening, and just about anything to do outdoors.  She also loves photography and capturing all the wonderful things found in nature.  You can see some of her work at http//rebecca-suzanne.artistwebsties.com

Jeremy Cantu

Kennel Technician

Jeremy is a Kerrville native, he was born and raised here, and is a Tivy High School graduate. Jeremy has four cats at home, and when he is not busy taking care of his kitties, he enjoys playing video games, watching television, and drawing.

Arial Sanchez 

Kennel Technician and Veterinary Technician’s Assistant 

Arial is originally from Daisetta, Texas, and has been in Kerrville since the beginning of 2020.  She joined TCAH in the fall of 2021, and her long-term career goal is to become a Veterinary Technician.  Arial is also passionate about another business venture she started making personalized gifts.  When not busy working and dedicating time to her new careers, Arial enjoys spending time with family, fishing, hunting, mudding, and her diverse pet menagerie consisting of 2 goats, 2 potbelly pigs, 2 cats, 7 chickens, and a dog.

Heather Schroeder 

Kennel Technician and Veterinary Technician’s Assistant 

Heather was born and raised in Kerrville and joined our team in the Summer of 2020.  She previously volunteered for the Humane Society from 2013-2016, is a Certified Dog Trainer, and working at finishing her certifications as a Veterinary Technician’s Assistant.  She enjoys spending free time with her husband and daughter, as well as their 4 dogs, 2 ducks, 6 chicken, 1 cat, and a tortoise.  She also enjoys gardening and woodworking.

Kyrstin Ward 

Kennel Technician and Veterinary Technician’s Assistant 

Kyrstin was born and raised in Kerrville and joined TCAH in the fall of 2021.  Kyrstin is just starting her career in veterinary medicine, but looks forward to learning and expanding her knowledge and skills long term.   In her free time, Kyrstin enjoys spending time with her family and 3 dogs, as well as helping her mother with her exotic pet zoo and exotic breeding venture.
