Ringbone

Osteoarthritis of the pastern joint is a degenerative disease that progressively worsens. Enlargement of the pastern is caused by new bone formation around the joint that is the body’s attempt to stabilize the joint. Although there is irreversible cartilage damage on the joint surface, the disease can be slowed with good management. Severe cases can be treated with surgical fusion of the joint.
